Hitting the Trail: What We Love Most About Hiking Together

Not every adventure needs a complicated plan.

Sometimes you just need a trail and enough curiosity to see where it leads.

Hiking is one of the simplest ways to experience the outdoors. There’s no windshield between you and the landscape and no need to move quickly from one destination to another.

You walk.

You look around.

And you experience a place one step at a time.

Slowing Everything Down

One of the things we’ve learned through years of traveling is the importance of slowing down.

It’s easy to visit a beautiful place and become so focused on reaching the next destination that you barely notice what you’re passing along the way.

Hiking naturally changes that.

When you’re moving on foot, you begin noticing the smaller details.

A view through the trees.

Wildlife somewhere in the distance.

The sound of water.

A photograph you probably wouldn’t have stopped to take from the road.

Sometimes those small discoveries become the most memorable parts of the day.

The Trail Doesn’t Have to Be Extraordinary

We love traveling and have been fortunate enough to experience destinations around the world, but enjoying the outdoors doesn’t require traveling thousands of miles.

A nearby trail can provide its own adventure.

That’s something both of us learned early in life.

Pam grew up wanting to be outside whenever possible, whether she was riding horses, fishing, biking, or exploring around the creek. Chuck’s childhood was similarly filled with hunting, fishing, camping, and family trips.

The location may change, but that feeling of being outside never really does.

Better Together

We’ve been adventuring together for a long time.

We met as kids, became best friends, eventually got married, and continued exploring throughout every season of our lives.

That shared curiosity has taken us across the United States and around the world.

But some of the best moments aren’t necessarily the biggest ones.

Sometimes it’s simply walking somewhere together, talking along the way, stopping for a photograph, and wondering what might be around the next bend.

Follow the Next Trail

That’s one of the ideas behind Reagle Adventures.

Of course, we want to show you the big trips, incredible destinations, hunting adventures, and fishing experiences.

But we also want to share the quieter side of being outside.

The walks.

The views.

The unexpected wildlife.

The little discoveries that happen when you give yourself enough time to look around.

Because there will always be another path to explore.

And sometimes the only way to find out where it goes is to start walking.
