Two lifelong adventurers sharing the wild places, unforgettable stories, and experiences they’ve collected together around the world.
I grew up fishing and hunting with my dad, grandpa, and uncle, and some of my favorite childhood memories happened outdoors. I spent countless hours on a nearby private lake learning how fish behave, where they like to hide, and how to place a lure just right. Those early days sparked a lifelong love for the outdoors and helped shape me into the dedicated outdoorsman I am today.
Every summer, my family went camping, and my mom always made sure we slowed down long enough to enjoy the sights, take in the little moments, and explore every new place we visited. That curiosity and appreciation for the journey has stayed with me ever since.
As a kid, I dreamed of one day having a deer mount in my house. Today, Pam and I have collected mounts from four continents, and each one reminds us of a story, a place, and an experience we will never forget. Although I no longer compete in archery, I still carry the lessons and skills that helped me win and place in national and world IBO and Cabela’s Open tournaments. I practice throughout the year so that when it is time to head into the woods, I am ready, confident, and grateful for the chance to be there.
Hi y’all! I have always felt most at home outside. Being outdoors gives me energy, clears my head, and fills my soul. Some of my sweetest memories are of horseback riding and caring for my pony, riding bikes to the neighborhood farm to fish, catching crayfish in a nearby creek, and staying outside until dinnertime.
I learned to hunt and shoot from my father. And I may have even skipped school a time or two to go deer hunting with my best bud, Chuck. I also treasure the summer weekends I spent at my grandparents’ cottage on Pymatuning, where we swam, fished, rowed, soaked up the sun, and played jarts and tetherball until the day was done.
We met in fifth grade, became best buds in junior high, and were married in June 1987. Through every season of life, our love of the outdoors has been one of the things that keeps us connected, curious, and always looking forward to the next adventure.
Our first big adventure together was in 1989, when we traveled to the Adirondack Mountains to fish for pike. We still remember how excited we were. It felt like the beginning of something much bigger. Since then, our adventures have taken us to New Zealand, South Africa, Namibia, Canada, Denmark, Spain, and across the U.S. Wherever we go, we try to follow the same lesson Chuck’s mom taught us: slow down, explore, learn about the people and culture, and truly appreciate the places we are blessed to visit.
